LAKERIDGE READ-A-THON IS MARCH 6-15
Popular School-Wide Program Returns with Special Prizes &
New Fundraising Goal for a Swing on the Playground
The Lakeridge PTA’s Read-A-Thon is a school-wide literacy event that encourages a love of reading. Held March 6-15, 2026, students will find sponsors, track their reading, participate in fun theme days at school, enter a bookmark contest, and win lots of prizes. All proceeds are invested back to the school. Pledges are entirely optional, and all students can participate fully, with or without sponsors.
As a result of our students’ impressive fundraising efforts during last year’s Read-A-Thon, we are part-way to adding a SWING to our beloved Lakeridge Playground. It’s now up to the kids to finish the job with this year’s Read-A-Thon and reach our goal of raising $13,000.
If we raise these funds, we will install the Oodle Swing on the Lakeridge Playground. The nest-style swing fits four to six children and will be a favorite feature for our special playground. *The Top 25 fundraisers will have their names on the new swing!
